In Nashville’s Cane Ridge neighborhood, 47-year-old Timothy Vetitoe lost his life in a two-vehicle collision on Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Old Hickory Boulevard and Barnes Road. According to investigators, Vetitoe was driving a Nissan Altima south on Old Hickory Boulevard at a high rate of speed when he failed to stop at the stop sign at Barnes Road.
His Altima was struck on the passenger side by a Dodge Dart that was traveling east on Barnes Road, which had properly stopped at the stop sign before entering the intersection. The collision caused Vetitoe’s vehicle to veer off into a field, where it rolled over. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene, and it was noted that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The driver of the Dodge Dart sustained no serious injuries in the accident. No further details have been released by Metro police.
