Fatal Henrico County shooting death of James Albert Brandon Jr. – Obituary
James Albert Brandon Jr., 55, of Henrico County, was tragically killed in a shooting outside a McDonald’s on Thursday night. The incident occurred around 7:08 p.m. on October 3, 2024, in the 5100 block of Nine Mile Road. Although officers responded quickly, both the victim and suspect had already left the scene.
Brandon Jr. was later found at a local hospital, having been transported by another vehicle with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Despite medical efforts, he sadly passed away.
Police identified 64-year-old Tony Mario Johnson of Richmond as the suspect in the shooting. Johnson was apprehended without incident near Peter Paul Boulevard and Fairfield Avenue. Charges against him are pending as the investigation continues. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Henrico Police or Crime Stoppers.
