Fatal Newark crash results in the death of Prabhjit Klair – Obituary
Delaware State Police have confirmed that 72-year-old Prabhjit Klair from Newark was the pedestrian who lost his life in an accident involving an SUV on the evening of October 4, 2024. The incident took place around 6:49 p.m. on Corner Ketch Road, just south of Karrington Drive in North Star.
According to police reports, Klair was initially standing on the southbound shoulder of Corner Ketch Road. He began to cross the road eastward without using a designated crosswalk and entered the southbound lane, where he was struck by a Subaru Outback approaching from the opposite direction. Authorities stated that Klair “fell into the southbound lane” before being hit by the vehicle. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 38-year-old driver of the Subaru, a man from Wilmington, was unharmed in the crash. The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the incident further.
