Fatal Santa Catalina Island plane crash death of Joeun Park – Obituary.
Authorities have identified Joeun Park, 37, as the last of five victims who perished in a small plane crash on Santa Catalina Island. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner released Park’s name on Tuesday. Previously, 34-year-old Gonzalo Lubel was named on Friday, and on Thursday, officials had confirmed the deaths of three others: Haris Ali, 33, from Fullerton; Margaret Mary Fenner, 55; and Ali Reza Safai, 73, from West Hills.
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) records indicate the plane was registered to Safai, a former flight instructor at the now-closed Santa Monica Aviation, which was based at Santa Monica Airport. The twin-engine Beechcraft 95-B55 went down shortly after taking off from Catalina Airport in Avalon at around 8 p.m. on October 8, according to FAA spokesman Rick Breitenfeldt. The crash occurred approximately one mile west of the airport.
