Fatal discovery near Cave Spring High School: Carl Simmons, 57, found dead – Obituary.
Roanoke County police are investigating the death of Carl Simmons, 57, whose body was discovered near Cave Spring High School on October 8, 2024. Simmons had been reported missing on October 3, and his vehicle was located near the school on the day of the discovery.
After searching the area, officers found Simmons’ body in a storm drain along the northern edge of the school’s parking lot. The cause of death has not yet been determined, and the body has been sent to the medical examiner for further examination.
Although the investigation is still ongoing, police do not currently suspect foul play. Simmons was not connected to Roanoke County Public Schools. Authorities will provide more details as they become available.
