Las Vegas Metro police have arrested two teenagers, including a 16-year-old, following a deadly shooting that occurred during a marijuana transaction. The incident took place on October 4 around 4 p.m. in the vicinity of Tree Line Drive and South Grass Meadow Drive, near Sahara Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard.
According to the arrest report, Dominque Rattler was dealing marijuana when he met two individuals dressed in ski masks. After exiting his car to complete the transaction, gunfire erupted. Rattler attempted to return to his vehicle but collapsed while trying to open the driver’s door. The woman accompanying him also faced gunfire and was later hospitalized.
The woman revealed to police that she and Rattler were raising eight children together, and although he had a job, it was insufficient to support their family, leading him to sell marijuana.
Rattler was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital. Police identified the suspects as 19-year-old Serge Kamga and the 16-year-old, named in court records as Ty Mijay Standmore. During interviews, Kamga claimed they intended to buy an ounce of marijuana from Rattler, who displayed a firearm during the meeting. Fearing for their safety, they ran to an apartment, where they alleged Standmore fired at Rattler in self-defense.
The investigation uncovered a .45 caliber firearm and marijuana-related items in Rattler’s vehicle, while another firearm was discovered in the freezer of the apartment where the suspects fled.
