Fatal Sullivan County accident death of Steven P. Quinn and John H. Brehm – Obituary.

Steven P. Quinn, 23, and John H. Brehm, 24, both residents of Sparrow Bush, tragically lost their lives in a recent ATV accident in Sullivan County. The incident occurred at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, on Rio Dam Road in Lumberland.

According to Undersheriff Eric Chaboty of the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, the two men were riding a single four-wheel ATV westbound when they struck a deer on the roadway. This collision caused the ATV to veer off the pavement and crash into a tree, resulting in both occupants being ejected from the vehicle.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and attempted to administer CPR, but both men were pronounced dead shortly thereafter by Sullivan County Coroner Alan Kesten.

The pair had reportedly been traveling from a local hunting camp to assist a colleague in tracking a deer that had been shot earlier that day. The investigation into the accident is ongoing, and multiple agencies, including New York State Police and various local fire and EMS departments, assisted at the scene.
