State police have identified 67-year-old Richard Dupont, of Jewett City, as the victim of a deadly crash in Lisbon on Monday night. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on River Road, where a northbound Dodge Ram, driven by a 36-year-old Ledyard man, veered off the road, striking Dupont and a guardrail before colliding with a telephone pole.
Dupont died at the scene, according to authorities. The driver was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and illegal possession of a firearm while intoxicated. The investigation is ongoing, and witnesses are encouraged to contact state police.
