Authorities have confirmed the identity of the driver involved in a fatal accident that occurred over the weekend in Wichita Falls. The crash took place just after 4 a.m. on Sunday, October 20, at the intersection of Sheppard Access and Iowa Park Road, after an ambulance crew discovered a vehicle at the scene.
Upon arrival, police found a 2023 Kia SUV with a single occupant, 33-year-old Jessica Mascorro from Wichita Falls, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators reported that Mascorro was heading south on Sheppard Access when she failed to stop at the stop sign at Iowa Park Road, leading to a collision with the concrete barriers located south of the intersection.
Sgt. Charlie Eipper stated in a press release that alcohol is believed to have contributed to the crash. This incident marks the seventh traffic-related fatality in Wichita Falls for the year 2024.
