Gordan Brunette, 56, has been identified as the individual who tragically lost his life in a head-on collision on State Highway 13 near Park Falls over the weekend. The crash involved Brunette’s Buick LeSabre and a Ford pickup truck driven by Gerald Yunk of Butternut.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, Brunette was traveling north when his vehicle drifted across the center line, colliding with Yunk’s pickup. Brunette died at the scene of the accident, while Yunk had to be extricated from his vehicle and was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
Yunk was transported to Marshfield Medical Center in Park Falls for treatment, but officials have not yet provided an update on his condition. The incident caused Highway 13 to be closed for several hours as investigators from the Price and Barron County Sheriff’s Offices, along with local emergency services, responded to the scene. No further details have been released regarding the ongoing investigation.
