Fatal Howland Township crash death of Michael Campbell – Obituary
Michael Campbell, 52, has been identified as the victim who lost his life in a car accident on Monday night in Trumbull County. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that a 50-year-old passenger from Milton, Florida, was also injured in the incident.
The single-car crash took place just before 7 p.m. when Campbell’s 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am was traveling north on Pine Avenue SE and failed to navigate a curve. The vehicle veered off the road, struck a guardrail, and then entered a ditch and nearby woods.
According to the patrol, the car flipped multiple times while moving through the brush, ejecting both Campbell and the passenger, who were not wearing seatbelts. The vehicle ultimately came to rest on its roof on Pine Avenue SE. Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger was transported to a hospital for treatment.
The crash resulted in the closure of a significant portion of Pine Avenue SE between Burton Street SE and Deforest Road SE. Authorities believe that speed, alcohol, and drugs may have contributed to the accident, and the investigation is ongoing.
