The Greenville County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that 47-year-old Richard L. Sprague of Easley was the victim of a fatal head-on collision that occurred on Monday afternoon. The crash took place around 1:20 p.m. on Locust Hill Road, near Dean Williams Road, approximately two miles north of Travelers Rest.
According to law enforcement officials, a 2014 Ford Escape was heading west while a 2011 Honda CRZ was traveling east when the two vehicles collided. Sprague, the driver of the Honda, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger of the Ford Escape were transported to the hospital with injuries.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing as authorities gather more information about the circumstances surrounding the crash.
