Fatal Hopkinton crash results in the death of David Fencl – Obituary
David Fencl, a 48-year-old resident of Calvert City, Kentucky, has been identified as the victim of a deadly multi-vehicle accident on the Mass Pike late Tuesday night. The incident occurred around 11:40 p.m. westbound near mile marker 105.
Authorities reported that the crash involved four vehicles: a tractor-trailer, a pickup truck, and two sedans. Despite initial reports indicating three vehicles, it was confirmed by Westborough Fire Chief Patrick Purcell that four were indeed involved. Two individuals were trapped in their cars, and six people, including Fencl, were taken to local hospitals.
Firefighters from Westborough and Hopkinton responded to the scene, deploying six ambulances to assist. While five of the individuals involved sustained only minor injuries, Fencl succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.
As of now, no charges have been filed, and the accident remains under investigation by the state police collision analysis and reconstruction unit, along with detectives from the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
