Fatal I-90 crash near Salem claims Destiny Annmarie Fine – Obituary
Destiny Annmarie Fine, a 26-year-old from Canistota, lost her life in a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 90 near Salem, South Dakota, on the morning of Sunday, October 20. The crash took place at mile marker 366, according to South Dakota Highway Patrol officials.
Fine was driving a 2002 Mazda Protege westbound when her vehicle veered off the road and struck a guardrail. The impact pushed her car back onto the road, where it was hit from behind by a 2005 Dodge Ram. Moments later, a Peterbilt semi-truck collided with the front of her vehicle. Authorities noted that Fine was not wearing a seat belt, and alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the accident.
The driver of the Dodge Ram sustained minor injuries, while the semi-truck driver was uninjured. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the accident.
