John McCandlish dies in fatal Medina County bicycle crash
Fatal Medina County bicycle crash death of John McCandlish – Obituary.
A 72-year-old man was tragically killed in a bicycle accident on Wednesday afternoon in Lafayette Township, Medina County. The incident occurred when John McCandlish, a resident of Medina, was cycling northbound on a path in Buckeye Woods Park and attempted to cross State Route 162. Unfortunately, he was struck by a motorcycle heading eastbound on the highway.
Emergency responders pronounced McCandlish dead at the scene. The 18-year-old motorcyclist involved in the collision was taken to a nearby hospital but sustained only non-life-threatening injuries. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, and no charges have been filed as of yet.
