Fatal Plum Orchard shooting death of Manuel Jones – Obituary
On Tuesday morning, authorities discovered the body of 36-year-old Manuel Jones in the Plum Orchard neighborhood, as identified by the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office on Friday. The New Orleans Police Department received a call for a wellness check around 9:14 a.m. in the 4700 block of Bonita Drive, where they found Jones unresponsive.
Initially classified as an unclassified death, the investigation later determined that Jones’s death was a homicide by 12:37 p.m. The coroner’s report confirmed that he succumbed to injuries from a gunshot wound.
The case remains under investigation, and further details have not been released.
