Fatal Fort Worth Trinity River death of Mark Knowles – Obituary
Mark Knowles, 66, was found dead after his body was recovered from the Clear Fork of the Trinity River in Fort Worth on the evening of Oct. 23, 2024. Emergency responders were called to the scene around 6:50 p.m. after a passerby spotted a man in the water near Watercourse Drive and Arborlawn Drive.
When officials arrived, they pulled Knowles from the river and immediately began CPR, but he was pronounced dead at 7:17 p.m. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the man as Mark Knowles, a Fort Worth resident. An autopsy is planned to determine the cause of his death.
Authorities have yet to establish why Knowles was in the river, and the investigation remains ongoing.
