Authorities have confirmed the identity of the man killed during a police shooting at the Hollywood Casino Hotel over the weekend. The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Milo L. Kirsh from Avon, Indiana.
Police responded to a call at approximately 1 a.m. on Saturday regarding Kirsh’s erratic behavior, which included chasing another guest with a knife, resulting in minor injuries. Upon arrival, officers discovered that Kirsh was firing a gun on the fourth floor of the hotel.
When officers confronted him in the hallway, they instructed him to drop the weapon. Reports indicate that Kirsh began shooting, prompting police to return fire. He was struck by at least one bullet and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Fortunately, no officers were injured during the incident.
An autopsy was performed on Kirsh, and the results are pending. The investigation remains ongoing, with assistance from various law enforcement agencies, including the Lawrenceburg Police Department and the Dearborn County Coroner’s Office.
