Sandro Aguilar dies in fatal Exeter car crash
Fatal Exeter car crash death of Sandro Aguilar – Obituary.
On Sunday evening, a tragic three-car accident on Interstate 95 in Exeter, Rhode Island, resulted in the death of 51-year-old Sandro Aguilar from Providence. State police responded to the scene around 6:52 p.m., where they found that a 2011 Honda Accord had broken down and was being towed by a 2024 Toyota Highlander.
While both vehicles were moving slowly in the first lane of travel on Route 9, a Freightliner truck collided with the rear of the Honda, causing all three vehicles to come to a stop across the highway. This led to the closure of all lanes until approximately 10:30 p.m.
Aguilar was quickly transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The two individuals in the Toyota sustained minor injuries and were also taken to the hospital, while the driver of the Freightliner was uninjured. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, and authorities are seeking additional witnesses to come forward by contacting the Rhode Island State Police Hope Valley Barracks.
