On October 23, 2024, Sarah A. Jelgerhuis, a 35-year-old woman from Wheaton, tragically lost her life following a vehicle collision in Naperville. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. at the intersection of South Naper Boulevard and Hobson Road, where a 2020 Nissan Kicks was making a left turn when it was struck by a northbound 2023 Ford Bronco driven by a 17-year-old girl.
The impact caused the Nissan to veer off and become partially submerged in a nearby pond. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Jelgerhuis succumbed to her injuries.
