Fatal Horry County vehicle crash death of Abron Stroud – Obituary.
Abron Stroud, a 47-year-old man from Nichols, lost his life in a tragic vehicle accident west of Conway on Friday night. According to Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard, Stroud was driving when he veered off Pee Dee Road North and overcorrected, causing his vehicle to flip. He was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene due to blunt force trauma.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m. near Lake Swamp Road in the Galivants Ferry area. South Carolina Highway Patrol Cpl. David Jones reported that a passenger in the truck, also unrestrained, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The Chevy truck, traveling south, overturned multiple times, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
