Fatal Sumter County motorcycle crash death of Ray Prosser – Obituary
Authorities report that 73-year-old Ray Prosser from Florence County lost his life following a collision with a truck on Friday. The incident occurred around noon on U.S. 378 (Myrtle Beach Highway) near Brewington Road, as stated by Corporal David Jones with the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Prosser was riding a 1990 Honda motorcycle in the wrong direction, traveling east in the westbound lanes, when he collided head-on with a 1985 Oshkosh commercial truck. Unfortunately, Prosser died at the scene, while the truck driver sustained no injuries. The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, and an autopsy for Prosser has been scheduled for Tuesday at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
