The Iowa State Patrol has confirmed that Samuel Joseph Poquette, a 33-year-old resident of New Ulm, was the individual who tragically lost his life in a vehicle accident on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred on Interstate 35, near the exit ramp leading to Joice and Kensett.
According to the report, Poquette was driving a 2017 Cadillac CT6 southbound when, at approximately 1:45 p.m., he lost control of the car. The vehicle veered into the median, breached the cable barrier, and collided with a bridge pillar. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities, including the Worth County Sheriff’s Office, Kensett Fire, Northwood Fire and Ambulance, and the Worth County medical examiner, assisted at the crash site. Further details are expected as the investigation continues.
