Zachary D. Fine dies in fatal Northeast Portland crash

Fatal Northeast Portland crash death of Zachary D. Fine – Obituary

Zachary D. Fine, aged 51, was identified as the victim of a tragic two-vehicle collision that occurred early on Monday morning in Northeast Portland. The accident involved a 2007 Dodge Caliber driven by Fine and a 2009 Acura TSC operated by 21-year-old Manuel D. Espana.

According to the Portland Police Bureau, the crash happened as Fine was making a left turn onto Northeast 118th Avenue from Halsey, and Espana allegedly struck him on the passenger side of his vehicle. Authorities believe excessive speed was a significant factor contributing to the fatal incident.

Espana has been arrested and faces serious charges including second-degree manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, and reckless driving. After being medically cleared, he was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center.

The investigation is still ongoing, and police are encouraging anyone with information regarding the crash to reach out to them.
