A tragic vehicle accident in Grayson County has resulted in the death of a 29-year-old woman from Sherman. The crash occurred on State Highway 160 near Desert Lake Road on Friday morning.
Emergency responders, including Grayson County deputies and personnel from the Whitewright Fire Department, arrived at the scene where they discovered Alexandria Pierce’s vehicle had collided with two others. Reports indicate that Pierce’s Jeep Patriot rear-ended a truck that was stopped and towing a trailer, waiting to turn onto Desert Lake Road. The force of the impact caused her vehicle to veer into the northbound lane, where it was struck head-on by an approaching car.
Pierce was pronounced dead at the scene, and she was reportedly thrown from her vehicle due to the severity of the crash. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported.
Authorities closed the highway to facilitate the clearing of wreckage and to conduct an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
