Fatal Shelbina crash death of David L. Michel – Obituary
A tragic accident in Shelbina, Missouri, claimed the life of 71-year-old David L. Michel from La Belle on Friday morning. The incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. on Highway 15, just north of Highway 36, when Michel’s SUV veered off the roadway and overturned.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Michel was traveling southbound on Highway 15 when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control of his vehicle. The SUV hit a ditch, collided with a utility pole and several road signs before crashing into the north side of an apartment building.
Witnesses reported that Michel was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Fortunately, no residents inside the apartment complex sustained injuries during the crash. Authorities noted that Michel was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
