Fatal Harrison Township shooting death of Jesus Hurtado – Obituary

A man involved in a shooting incident at a Kroger store in Harrison Township is currently hospitalized following the confrontation with a security guard. The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Jesus Hurtado, was shot on Thursday morning at approximately 8:09 a.m. by the guard after a dispute escalated.

 

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the scene where they discovered Hurtado injured near the store’s entrance. The altercation began when Hurtado, who was wearing a mask, allegedly displayed a firearm after being asked to leave the store by security personnel. In response, the security guard drew his weapon and fired multiple rounds, hitting Hurtado.

 

Hurtado is now receiving treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to be transferred to the Montgomery County Jail once he is discharged from the hospital. He faces several charges, including Aggravated Robbery, Robbery, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon, with a bond set at $100,000.

 

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit is continuing to look into the circumstances surrounding this incident.
