A man from Tampa is facing serious charges following a shooting incident that took place on October 23. Luscious Bell Jr., 42, was arrested on Friday and is now charged with first-degree murder, as well as being a felon in possession of a firearm. He is currently being held without bond at the Falkenburg Road Jail.
The Tampa Police Department reported that officers responded to the 8000 block of North Ninth Street around 4:30 a.m. on the day of the incident after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male victim who had sustained gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
During their investigation, law enforcement reviewed surveillance footage that captured three individuals in the vicinity at the time of the shooting. Bell was identified as one of these individuals, and he later confirmed to the police that he was present in the video with acquaintances.
Authorities believe that Bell and the deceased were known to each other, but the motive behind the shooting is still under investigation. The identity of the victim has not been released, and police indicated that further charges could be possible as the case develops.
