Nathan Coates dies in fatal Lynnwood hit-and-run
Fatal Lynnwood hit-and-run death of Nathan Coates – Obituary
Nathan Coates, 29, of Lynnwood, was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident while crossing Highway 99 on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. near 164th Street SW, where Coates and another pedestrian, a 28-year-old man from Lynden, were struck by a southbound Chevy Trailblazer. The driver fled the scene, leaving Coates fatally injured, while the other man was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries.
Following the accident, authorities temporarily closed southbound lanes on Highway 99 to investigate, reopening them around midnight. The Washington State Patrol is continuing to investigate and has not yet released any information about the driver involved.
