Fatal South Lubbock bicycle crash death of Charles Clay – Obituary
Charles Clay, a bicyclist injured in a collision with a car on October 27 in South Lubbock, has passed away from his injuries, as confirmed by the Lubbock Police Department. The crash occurred around 9:37 p.m. near the intersection of 103rd Street and Indiana Avenue.
The initial investigation by Lubbock Police indicates that a car driven by 24-year-old Juan Vallin was heading north in the 10200 block of Indiana Avenue, the same direction as Clay, who was also traveling north on his bicycle. Vallin’s vehicle collided with Clay’s bicycle, leaving Clay with severe injuries. EMS transported him to University Medical Center, but despite medical efforts, Clay later succumbed to his injuries.
The Lubbock Police Department is continuing to investigate the details surrounding the incident.
