A murder charge has been filed against a woman following the brutal stabbing of another woman in her home. The incident occurred in Enfield, north London, where 62-year-old Efthyia Constantinou was discovered suffering from stab wounds by police on Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the residence on Westerham Avenue at approximately 4:53 p.m., but despite their efforts, Constantinou was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect, 55-year-old Zaneta Peto, also known as Maria Peto, was apprehended in the early hours of October 31 and subsequently charged with murder. She appeared in court on November 2.
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee from the Metropolitan Police stated that the investigation was prompted by a dropped call and confirmed that Peto was known to the victim. Authorities have indicated that they are not searching for any additional suspects related to this case, and Constantinou’s family is receiving support from specially trained officers as they navigate this tragic event.
