A tragic hit-and-run incident has claimed the life of Rachal Michelle Santamaria, 47, who was injured earlier this month while crossing Okeechobee Boulevard in West Palm Beach. The incident occurred on October 5 at 7:48 p.m. when Santamaria was struck by an SUV while moving across the westbound lanes from south to north.

According to police spokesman Mike Jachles, a 911 caller witnessed the collision and reported that the SUV did not stop after hitting Santamaria, fleeing the scene immediately. Santamaria, who was homeless, sustained severe injuries in the crash, ultimately leading to her death.
