Roland Drexler dies in fatal Austria shooting incident
Fatal Austria shooting incident death of Roland Drexler – Obituary
The individual suspected of fatally shooting two men in northern Austria has been found dead, as confirmed by police. Roland Drexler’s body was discovered in the Upper Austria province, close to the Czech border, following an extensive search for him.
Authorities believe that Drexler, 56, may have taken his own life, with a firearm located near his body in the woods. The search for him began on Monday after the body of a man, later identified as a local mayor, was discovered in a field in the village of Altenfelden. A second victim, a hunter, was also found later that same day.
Drexler was located near his vehicle, which had been seen by local residents on Friday near the scene of the first shooting. While no motive has been officially confirmed, reports suggest that the shootings may have stemmed from a dispute over hunting laws between Drexler and his victims.
