Fatal head-on crash death of Scarleth Ramnarine – Obituary

A tragic accident on Tuesday claimed the life of Scarleth Ramnarine, a 54-year-old resident of West Jordan, during a head-on collision on state Route 96 near Scofield Reservoir. The collision occurred shortly before 2 p.m. when a semitruck traveling east collided with a pickup truck that lost control on icy roads and veered into oncoming traffic.

 

According to authorities, Ramnarine was a passenger in the pickup truck and died instantly upon impact. A friend paid tribute to her on social media, describing her as “an exceptional woman, diligent worker, and loyal friend.”

 

The driver of the pickup sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, while the semitruck driver also sought medical attention through a private vehicle. The crash resulted in both directions of state Route 96 being closed for several hours as emergency crews worked at the scene. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
