Fatal Dorchester County crash death of Tyler Sowder – Obituary
The Dorchester County Coroner has confirmed that 24-year-old Tyler Sowder from Summerville was pronounced dead shortly after midnight following a single-vehicle accident. The crash occurred on Saturday night around 11:35 p.m. when Sowder’s 2001 GMC Yukon was traveling north on US-17 Alternate near Clubhouse Road. According to Sgt. Tyler Tidwell, the vehicle veered off the road to the left and then to the right, ultimately striking a ditch, overturning, and colliding with a utility pole. Sowder was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the incident. Investigations into the crash are being conducted by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Dorchester County Coroner’s Office.
