BATON ROUGE, LA — Jeremiah Butler, 26, tragically lost his life in a crash that occurred on Greenwell Springs Road early on October 31. The Central Police Department reported that the incident took place around 5:40 a.m. between J L Fairchild Road and Denham Road.

According to Central Police Chief Roger Corcoran, the crash happened when Butler, driving a black SUV, attempted to overtake an 18-wheeler in a no-passing zone, leading to a head-on collision with a pickup truck. While Butler was pronounced dead at the scene, the driver of the pickup was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
