Fatal Charlton head-on car crash death of Leah Forrester – Obituary

CHARLTON, MA — Leah Forrester, a 51-year-old resident of Southbridge, lost her life in a tragic head-on collision on Southbridge Road late Saturday night. The Worcester County District Attorney’s Office confirmed her identity and shared details of the incident.

Authorities report that Aphrodite Papoutsides, a 26-year-old from Charlton, was driving northbound on Route 169 around 9 p.m. when her Mercedes veered into the oncoming lane, striking Forrester’s Honda Civic head-on. Forrester was killed by the impact, while her passengers were injured and taken to a nearby hospital. Papoutsides also sustained injuries and received medical treatment.

On Monday, Papoutsides was arraigned in Dudley District Court on charges including reckless homicide by motor vehicle and reckless operation. The court set her bail at $7,500, with conditions prohibiting her from driving, requiring her to surrender her passport, remain drug- and alcohol-free, and avoid contact with witnesses. The prosecution had initially requested a higher bail of $25,000.

This heartbreaking incident remains under investigation.
