Fatal New Orleans, Louisiana shooting death of Frank Nichols – Obituary
Frank Nichols, a 55-year-old man, has been identified as the victim of a shooting that occurred in the 7th Ward of New Orleans last Wednesday. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office reported that Nichols suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was found by police at approximately 8:56 p.m. in the 1900 block of A.P. Turead Avenue.
Nichols was transported to University Medical Center New Orleans for medical treatment; however, he later succumbed to his injuries. Initial investigations revealed that the shooting happened during an argument when the suspect pulled out a firearm and shot Nichols. The incident was initially categorized as aggravated battery by shooting before being reclassified as a homicide following Nichols’ death.
As of now, there are no further details regarding potential suspects, and the investigation into the homicide is ongoing.
