Fatal Mount Prospect death of Atalia Pucheta Martine – Obituary

The body of Atalia Pucheta Martine, a 23-year-old woman from Mount Prospect, was discovered on Saturday morning, Nov. 9, in Busse Woods Forest Preserve in northern Cook County. Police were alerted to the scene by a motorist who reported a person lying near Higgins Road in Elk Grove Village. Emergency responders arrived and confirmed the woman was deceased, prompting an investigation. Later that afternoon, Mount Prospect police were informed of a missing person case for a 23-year-old woman from Brownstone Court and identified the body as Martine. Authorities indicated that the death appears to be an isolated incident with no known threat to the community. The investigation continues, and anyone with information is urged to contact Mount Prospect police.
