Fatal High Point crash death of Janet Edkins – Obituary

Janet Edkins, 67, from Knoxville, Tennessee, was killed in a crash on Friday, November 8, 2024, on eastbound Interstate 74 near Eastchester Drive in High Point. The High Point Police Department responded to the incident at approximately 11:45 a.m. and found that Edkins’ Hyundai SUV was either stopped or moving slowly in the middle lane when it was struck by a Toyota van.

Edkins was pronounced dead at the scene, and a passenger in the SUV was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The driver of the van was not injured. This incident brings the total number of fatal crashes in High Point this year to five.
