Scott David Guhse, 51, from Glen Burnie, was shot and killed during a road rage confrontation on Saturday night, according to Anne Arundel County police. The incident began near Maryland Route 10 and Furnace Branch Road when a motorcyclist, a 22-year-old man, reported that Guhse was tailgating him and driving erratically. The conflict escalated as Guhse reportedly pulled alongside the motorcyclist and began shouting.
The situation intensified when both stopped on East Furnace Branch Road at Margate Drive. Police stated that Guhse exited his vehicle holding a hammer and approached the motorcyclist. Feeling threatened, the motorcyclist, who was carrying a firearm legally, fired at Guhse, resulting in his death at the scene.
The motorcyclist remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the encounter and encourage anyone with additional information to contact Anne Arundel County police or Metro Crime Stoppers.
