William Risley dies in fatal Wallingford truck crash

Fatal Wallingford truck crash death of William Risley – Obituary

A 56-year-old man, William Risley from Watertown, tragically lost his life after his box truck rear-ended a tractor-trailer on Interstate 91 in Wallingford on Monday. The crash occurred just before 2 p.m. near Exit 15 on I-91 North. According to state police, Risley’s truck was traveling directly behind the tractor-trailer in the middle lane when it collided with the back of the trailer.

 

Risley was rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the tractor-trailer sustained possible injuries and was also transported to a hospital. The highway was closed for several hours while authorities investigated the scene, but it has since reopened. The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact State Police Trooper Patrick Miko.
