Fatal San Diego freeway crash death of Cale Wallace – Obituary
Cale Wallace, a 39-year-old resident of San Dimas, tragically lost his life in a high-speed crash near downtown San Diego on November 6.
According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office and the California Highway Patrol, Wallace was driving a Chevrolet SUV on the connector ramp from westbound State Route 94 to southbound SR-15 shortly before 10:30 a.m. when he lost control. The vehicle collided with a wall at the edge of the overpass and careened off the roadway.
Wallace was ejected from the SUV as it fell onto the eastbound lanes of SR-94, eventually coming to a stop on a slope covered with ice plants. The vehicle caught fire after landing. Emergency responders pronounced Wallace dead at the scene.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
