Antavious Scott, a 9-year-old boy, was tragically killed in a shooting Saturday night in Florida City. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. at the South Point Apartments on West Lucy Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the child unresponsive and airlifted him to HCA Kendall Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators with the Miami-Dade Police Department, now handling the case, revealed that Scott was among a group of people gathered outside when shots were fired, and he was struck by gunfire. Family members and friends have set up a memorial for the young boy, adorned with stuffed animals and candles spelling his nickname, “Tay Tay.”
