Fatal Corpus Christi shooting death of Carlos Alberto Garcia – Obituary
The man killed in a fatal shooting early Sunday morning on Moultrie Drive has been identified as 34-year-old Carlos Alberto Garcia. Officers responded to the St. Andrews Park area around 2 a.m. after receiving a call that the reporting party had been robbed and had shot a man. Upon arrival, they discovered Garcia’s body near the front door, with a gunshot wound to his head.
The suspect, Cody Ramos, was apprehended after being removed from the residence via the front window. Authorities later learned from Ramos’ parents that he had confessed to the shooting, claiming he believed Garcia was stealing from him. Ramos reportedly forced Garcia to empty his pockets earlier that night, and when Garcia attempted to flee, Ramos fired a fatal shot.
Investigators found a black revolver in the living room, which they believe was used in the shooting, along with narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Ramos has been taken into custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
