Fatal Billings shooting death of Marshall Wilson – Obituary

Authorities have confirmed the identity of the man fatally shot in the parking lot of a Billings bar. The 46-year-old victim, Marshall Wilson, was killed after gunfire erupted outside the Reno Club on Calhoun Lane early Thursday morning. According to the Yellowstone County Coroner’s Office, the shooting followed a verbal altercation.

 

Police report that Wilson drew a firearm and opened fire on a 38-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman, injuring both. The woman attempted to defend herself by returning fire, but a third man, who had not been involved in the initial dispute, shot and killed Wilson. The two injured individuals sustained non-life-threatening wounds. Law enforcement confirmed that the people involved were acquaintances prior to the incident.

 

Billings Police Chief Rich St. John mentioned that the 25-year-old man responsible for Wilson’s death could face legal charges. The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
