Fatal Pepper Pike wrong-way crash death of Henry Banks IV and Curtis Houston – Obituary
PEPPER PIKE, Ohio — Two drivers were killed early Monday morning in a wrong-way crash on I-271 near Chagrin Boulevard. The crash occurred shortly after midnight when a 2017 Toyota Tundra, driven by Curtis Houston, 29, of Garfield Heights, was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes. The Tundra collided with a 2024 GMC Truck driven by Henry Banks IV, 32, of Bedford Heights.
Both vehicles caught fire following the crash, and emergency responders transported the drivers to Hillcrest Hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. Police identified Houston as the wrong-way driver. The northbound lanes of I-271 were closed for several hours as authorities investigated the incident.
