Paul and Zapaulion Vinson die in fatal Delafield rollover crash

Paul and Zapaulion Vinson die in fatal Delafield rollover crash

Fatal Delafield crash deaths of Paul and Zapaulion Vinson – Obituary

Ten-year-old twin brothers, Paul and Zapaulion Vinson, tragically lost their lives in a rollover crash in Delafield, Wisconsin, on December 20, 2023. Their father, Paul Vinson, was behind the wheel and later faced multiple charges, including second-degree reckless homicide and operating a vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance.

The incident began when a Waukesha County deputy attempted to stop Vinson’s vehicle for speeding and missing license plates. Instead of stopping, Vinson fled, reaching speeds of up to 95 mph. The pursuit ended in a devastating crash when Vinson lost control, veered into a ditch, struck a culvert, and caused the vehicle to overturn. Paul and Zapaulion, who were unrestrained in the back seat, were ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

Four others in the vehicle were injured, including a 29-year-old woman, identified as Vinson’s girlfriend, and two young girls, ages 14 and 6. The two girls sustained severe injuries, with one suffering a severed arm. Investigators later revealed the family was returning from a trip to Minnesota’s Mall of America.

Paul Vinson, who has a history of driving without a valid license and prior convictions, pleaded guilty to five charges in September 2024. Thirteen other charges were dismissed as part of the sentencing process.

This tragic case serves as a grim reminder of the importance of road safety and the consequences of reckless decisions.
