A 71-year-old man, Thomas Joseph Harper Jr., tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle accident on Thursday evening in Winston-Salem. The crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of Thomasville Road. Officers from the Winston-Salem Police Department responded to the scene and discovered a 2014 Chevrolet Spark.
According to investigators, the vehicle was traveling southbound on Thomasville Road when it veered off the road to the right and collided with a utility pole. Harper, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
