Brandon Durham dies in fatal Las Vegas police shooting
Fatal Las Vegas police shooting death of Brandon Durham – Obituary.
Brandon Durham, 43, was fatally shot in his Las Vegas home after calling 911 to report a possible home invasion on November 12, 2024. According to bodycam footage, Durham was involved in a struggle over a knife with Alejandra Boudreaux, 31, when Las Vegas Metro Police Officer Alexander Bookman arrived at the scene.
Authorities reported that Bookman ordered both individuals to drop the knife before firing his weapon. Durham was struck, fell to the ground, and Bookman fired five additional shots. Durham was pronounced dead at the scene.
Durham’s family is demanding answers, questioning why he was shot after seeking police assistance. His daughter, Isabella, and mother have called for accountability in a public statement.
Boudreaux, who police say had a prior sexual relationship with Durham, was arrested and faces charges including home invasion, assault with a deadly weapon, and child abuse. She reportedly told detectives she intended to provoke police into killing her.
Officer Bookman has been placed on paid leave while an investigation into the incident is conducted. Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson informed the family that it could take 30 to 90 days to determine whether Bookman’s actions were justified.
